Settlers to the Front

Humanity is on the verge of completely annihilating the Argell, their ancient arch enemy residing in the eastern mountains. The conflict has largely been perpetuated by the steady drive of settlers, who left their overcrowded home provinces for the promise of vast fertile lands east of the traditionally Argellan lands. Although the trek across the highest mountains in the world may be daunting, the reality is that most dangers await on the other side: settlers are frequently attacked by desperate but ultimately fearsome bands of Argell, who do what little they can in a futile attempt to stem the tide of human colonialism.

These settlers cannot rely on support from either the Altarland provincial forces or the Army of the Provinces, so they - men and women alike - often form small units of "instant warriors" who bond together in a bid to defend their newly built farms and villages. Although their Argellan opposition may be experienced and wear intimidating armour, little can oppose the cold, industrial efficiency of an adequately used percussion lock rifle.

The pictured settlers are from the province of the Altarlands. They wear the traditional Altarland shepherd's clothes, fully loaded with supplies for a journey deep into the mountains, complete with a scout and hunting falcon.
